ST. STEPHEN’S SWIM MEET

Our School’s swimmers joined the St. Stephen’s High School second annual swim meet last October 4, 2014. All participating swimmers signed up for: the 200 LC Meter Medley relay, the 50 meter Butterfly, 50 meter Backstroke, 50 meter Breaststroke, 50 meter Freestyle, and the 200 LC Freestyle relay.
Jubilee’s swimmers won 6 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals, garnering 184 points in total. Also, one of Jubilee’s representatives won the Most Outstanding Swimmer Award of his age group, beating 8 other swimmers for the award. The winners are as follows:

 

  • Bryce C. Barraza – 4 gold (50 meter Fly, 50 meter Back, 50 meter Breast, & 50 meter Free) and winner of the Most Outstanding Award for the 8-year old category
  • Kyle Nathan C. Barraza – 1 gold (50 Breast)
  • Ashley Chiong – 1 gold (50 meter Back), 1 bronze (50 meter Free)
  • Jethro Victor M. Ong – 2 silver (50 meter Fly & 50 meter Back), 2 bronze (50 meter Breast & 50 meter Free)
  • Justin Victor M. Ong – 1 bronze (50 meter Fly), 1 silver (50 breast)
  • Ruth Yu – 3 silvers (50 meter Fly, 50 meter Back, & 50 meter Breast), 1 bronze (50 meter Free)

Overall, the boys placed 7th out of 19 schools in the male category with 136 points, while the girls placed 9th out of 22 schools with 48 points in the female category. Once all points are added, Jubilee placed 8th in total with 184 points in total.

Jubilee has shown efficiency as a team, with its average points per swimmer being 15.33 points, while the leading school’s average points per swimmer would be only around 13 points.
This competition is the first that the Jubilee swim team has attended as official varsity. Jubilee’s attendance to the St. Stephen’s High School Swim Meet has brought glory to both God and the School. To God be the Glory!!
