CODE INTERVENTION 2014

Last June 21, 2014, the Ateneo Consultants for Organization Development and Empowerment (Ateneo CODE) hosted a leadership training for the JCA Junior High School Student Council (JHS-SC). The objective of the tie-up activity was to train the Student Council to become potential leaders of the School and community and incorporate leadership as a spiritual and social responsibility. The whole day affair facilitated by Ateneo CODE Consultants headed by JCA alumni, Aeron Lester N. Syliongtay and Jason Allan T. Tan and participated by JHS-SC Officers and Volunteers and Class Presidents,  was held at Rm. 303 of the E. Rodriguez Campus.

Students huddle up to discuss how to make minutes

The activity commenced with a devotion on ‘Taking the Lead’ and an opening prayer led by John Moses Tan, SC Treasurer,  followed by the CODE Introduction and discussion on Structured Learning Experience (SLE) on Assertive Communication. There were also team dynamics such as Human Trail Relay, Number Game, World War, and Poison Game held at the Open Courts. These activities were geared to develop in the students values like unity and attentiveness. There were also workshops on Constructing Proposals, Villain and Hero Character Model Making, and Minutes Making to train students on how to participate in discussions and be organized. The event culminated with a closing prayer led by Jhedd Baldwin Yulangco, Grade 9 Batch Representative. The JHS-SC moderator is Mr. Marlon C. Bugayong.
