JHS Appreciation Day and Intramurals Opening

Last September 25, 2014, Jubilee Christian Academy Junior High School held the Appreciation Day Celebration. The celebration also signalled the kick off of the Intramurals, as well as the Deck-Out Day Quarter Activity of the English, Music, and PE areas.

The program still had the classic Intramurals events: the parade of participants and the pledge of sportsmanship. Subject areas and office staff were grouped together and paraded wearing different fictional characters such as Tethis and Trident of Mythology, the Phantom of the Opera, Avatar: the Airbender, Maganda of Philippine folktale, Katniss of The Hunger Games, Princess Lea of Star Wars, Lucy Pevensie of The Chronicles of Narnia, and from literary works such as The Sound of Music and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Students, faculty & staff, and parents raved and applauded every group that paraded for the in-character portrayal of faculty and staff as they delivered one-liners to introduce themselves. The JCA community was truly delighted to witness energized teachers and staff who embodied a different persona for the Deck Out.  The Filipino and Chinese areas won the Best in Costume award.

There was also the Cheer / Yell Contest between the Grades 7 and 8 where Grade 8 won. Grades 9, 10 Bridge, and 10 Non-Bridge competed in the Cheerdance Contest where Grade 10 Non-Bridge prevailed. All That Jazz electrified the crowd with a hiphop dance number while Jubilee Youth Choir and Strings Sonata serenaded the audience.

The exhibition games in basketball and volleyball showcased the varsity players against JCA faculty and staff where in both games, the JCA varsity teams won.

After the main program, the faculty and staff gathered at the  Jubilee Evangelical Chapel for a special program for all JCA personnel.

The celebration gave way for students and JCA faculty and staff to enjoy and share a good laugh while recognizing the work and dedication of all personnel.
