Showcasing the Best from the Music and Language Festival

During the “Music and Language Global Festival”, Junior High School (JHS) students showcased their  understanding and appreciation of different United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UN-SDG) through music and language with an aim to inform, advocate, make a stand, and empower people. It also served as an avenue for students to enjoy fun activities that involved their creativity, musicality, and multimedia skills while forging stronger collaboration among students. GRADE 7 MASH-UP SONG

This mash-up song, created by Rhian Jeanne D. Caliwan, Kacey Danielle F. Uy, Sophia Joyce G. Ong, Lexine Sari G. Ocampo, and Jerome Austin N. Te of 7 Rizal, reflects through the catchy tune of a familiar OPM song (it’s Smokey Mountain’s Anak ng Pasig) and their original lyrics in three languages how the students advocate “good health and well being”, UN-SDG number 3. 

GRADE 8 ORIGINAL SONG

Grade 8 Aristotle’s winning piece is a product of their knowledge on Quality Education, UN SDG number 4, and their expertise in the Chinese, English, and Filipino Language. With the help of their media skills, they were able to create an original song entitled Rise as One composed by Lance Andrei L. Ang, Joaquim Simon N. Calamiong, Janae Faith F. Chua, Eanne Franchesca C. Manzana, and Carrie Mae M. Lee.

Students’ multimedia prowess were reflected in the Grade 9’s best infomercial. Zachary Daniel F. Uy, Will Ivenson F. Kho, Wayne Ivenson F. Kho, Eliza Janel L. Tan, and Bianca Louise G. Tan of 9 Sun Yat Sen were able to combine their language skills, creativity, and persuasion skills to be able to effectively inform their audience on Responsible Production and Consumption, UN-SDG number 12.

Tiffany C. Duyongco, Samuel Xander Jr. Ang Lim, Matthew Riley C. Raymundo, Kyle Elijah C. Gan, and Faith Myer P. Te combined their creativity, media and research skills, and language fluency to create an organized and factual infograph that captures their ideas on UN-SDG number 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Certainly, the JHS students were able to effectively communicate their message and be advocates of the four different UN Sustainable Development Goals through unifying language, music, and media skills to  transform and shape a better normal for everyone.
